“So it happened that while I slept or while I drank a glass of Wittenberg beer with my friend Philip [Melanchthon] and with Amsdorf, the papacy was weakened as it never was before by the action of any prince or emperor.”

Luther (WA 10III, 18–19)

Call Night

The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Each year we gather to praise God for His kindness to us and to see where He will send another generation of faithful servants for His Church.
–Prof. Jeffrey Pulse

Dining Together

So much of life together takes place around meals. We eat, drink and share our stories with one another. The faculty and staff often join us and we learn so much from one another.

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

Hebrews 10:23-25, ESV

Coffee Hour

Students, faculty and staff gather in the Commons every day after chapel for fellowship and fun. Theological conversation abounds!

Gemütlichkeit

This German word means warmth, friendliness, congeniality. Every Friday after classes and afternoon prayers, professors and students alike, along with their families, gather in the commons for a time of relaxation and conversation.

Graduation

It’s always a bittersweet night for us at CTSFW. Even though we hate to see you go, we know you’re going to serve in Christ’s Church, and that was the goal from the beginning. Besides … we know you’ll be back for Symposium next year, right?

“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

Galatians 6:2, ESV
